Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups water
  • 3 to 5 green tea bags (use 5 for stronger flavor)
  • 1 ½ cups fresh mint leaves, washed
  • ¼ to ½ cup honey (or other liquid sweetener like agave or maple syrup)
  • Juice from ½ lemon
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Boil the Water
Bring 6 cups of water to a boil in a teapot or saucepan.
  2. Steep the Tea
Remove from heat. Add green tea bags, mint leaves, and honey. Let steep for 5 minutes.
  3. Strain and Pour
Fill a large glass pitcher ⅓ full with ice. Strain the tea into the pitcher using a sieve or fork over the teapot opening to catch leaves. Discard tea bags and mint.
  4. Add Lemon Juice
Squeeze in fresh lemon juice and stir until the pitcher is chilled and the tea is well mixed.
  5. Serve and Garnish
Pour into glasses over ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint and lemon slice if desired.
