Matcha Bubble Tea made with premium matcha, maple-sweetened tapioca pearls, and creamy milk. Vegan and paleo options included.

Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup cold water
  • 2 tsp matcha powder
  • 2 tsp maple syrup (plus more if needed)
  • ½ cup dry tapioca pearls
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup (for pearls)
  • 2 cups ice
  • 1½ cups milk of choice

Instructions

  • Make the Tea
    Add cold water, matcha, and maple syrup to a shaker. Shake 10–15 seconds until smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness.
  • Prepare the Boba
    Cook tapioca pearls per package instructions. Drain, then stir in maple syrup. Let sit 5 minutes to absorb flavor.
  • Assemble the Drink
    Divide boba into glasses, add ice, pour in milk, then slowly pour in matcha tea to create a layered effect. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • If you’re paleo, make sure to use unsweetened cashew or almond milk without any additives/preservatives/etc., and to use the white unsweetened tapioca pearls.
  • If you’re vegan, use plant-based milk and make sure your boba is vegan.
